Password Tips for PWtime

Short, practical advice to create strong passwords locally with PWtime.Fast, private, and free.

About PWtime

PWtime is a free password generator that runs fully in your browser. Choose a length between 2–14, switch character sets a–z, A–Z, 0–9, and optional Symbols, then click Generate and Copy. No servers. No tracking. Your passwords never leave your device.

Quick Start

Default 12+ chars with three or four sets gives a strong baseline.
Symbols If a site rejects symbols, just toggle Symbols off and regenerate.
Clipboard Clear the field after use with Clear, especially on shared devices.

Practical Tips

1) Strong defaults

  • Use 12–14 chars.
  • Keep a–z, A–Z, 0–9 on; add Symbols when accepted.
  • For sites with limits, try 12 chars without symbols.

2) One password per site

Re‑use is the #1 risk. If one site leaks, attackers try that password elsewhere. Generate a fresh one every time.

3) Pair with a manager

Let a password manager remember them. PWtime makes strong ones; the manager stores and auto‑fills.

4) Enable 2FA

Add an authenticator app or security key where possible. It protects you even if a password leaks.

Fun Facts & Myths

âť“ PWtime FAQ

Does PWtime send my passwords anywhere?

No. PWtime runs fully in your browser. Nothing is uploaded or stored on our servers.

Is 12 characters enough?

For most accounts, 12–14 with 3–4 character sets is a solid choice. For very sensitive accounts, also enable 2FA.

Why is there a 14 character cap?

It keeps the UI simple and fast for common needs. If you want longer phrases, generate twice and combine, or use a passphrase manager.

Symbols don’t work on a site—what now?

Toggle Symbols off and regenerate. Length + multiple sets still gives strong results.
